chocolate peanut pretzel caramel bars

A no-bake dessert bar combining chocolate, caramel, peanuts, and pretzels for a sweet and salty treat.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups mini pretzel twists, lightly crushed
  • 1 1/2 cups roasted salted peanuts
  • 11 oz caramel bits (or soft caramels, unwrapped)
  • 3 tbsp heavy cream (or milk)
  • 1 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 cups milk chocolate chips (or chopped milk chocolate)
  • 1 tbsp coconut oil (optional, for smoother chocolate)
  • Flaky sea salt, for topping (optional)

Instructions

  1. Line an 8×8-inch pan with parchment paper, leaving an overhang for easy lifting.
  2. Combine crushed pretzels and peanuts in a large bowl.
  3. Heat caramel bits with cream and butter in a microwave-safe bowl in 30-second bursts, stirring each time, until smooth. Stir in vanilla.
  4. Pour warm caramel over the pretzel-peanut mixture and stir until everything is coated evenly.
  5. Transfer to the lined pan and press firmly into an even layer.
  6. Microwave chocolate chips with coconut oil (if using) in 30-second bursts, stirring until smooth.
  7. Spread chocolate evenly over the caramel layer. Sprinkle with flaky sea salt if desired.
  8. Refrigerate 45–60 minutes until set. Lift out, cut into bars or squares, and serve.

Notes

  • Use wax paper to press the base layer firmly for even bars.
  • Store bars in the refrigerator to maintain firmness.
  • Substitute milk for heavy cream if needed.
