Cheesy Garlic Breadsticks

Homemade cheesy garlic breadsticks made with pizza dough, stuffed with mozzarella, and topped with garlic butter and melted cheese.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb pizza dough (store-bought or homemade)
  • 4 mozzarella string cheese sticks (or 4 thick mozzarella sticks)
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 tsp Italian seasoning
  • 1/4 tsp kosher salt
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 tbsp chopped parsley (optional)
  • Marinara sauce, for dipping (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 425°F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Divide pizza dough into 4 equal pieces. Roll each piece into a rectangle (about 6×3 inches).
  3. Place 1 mozzarella stick along the long edge of each rectangle. Roll tightly and pinch seams and ends closed.
  4. Place breadsticks seam-side down on the baking sheet.
  5. In a small bowl, mix melted butter, minced garlic, Italian seasoning, and salt. Brush all over the breadsticks.
  6. Sprinkle shredded mozzarella and Parmesan evenly over the tops.
  7. Bake 12–15 minutes until golden and the cheese is bubbly and browned. (Optional: broil 1–2 minutes for extra golden spots—watch closely.)
  8. Sprinkle with parsley if using. Serve warm with marinara for dipping.

Notes

  • Use fresh garlic for best flavor.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 2 days.
  • Reheat in oven or air fryer for crispiness.
