pigs in a blanket recipe

Classic pigs in a blanket made with crescent roll dough and hot dogs, perfect for parties or snacks.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 (8 oz) can refrigerated crescent roll dough (or crescent dough sheet)
  • 8 hot dogs (or 16 cocktail sausages)
  • 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash, optional)
  • 1 tbsp water (to mix with egg wash)
  • Optional toppings: flaky salt, sesame seeds, poppy seeds, everything bagel seasoning

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Unroll crescent dough and separate into triangles (or cut dough sheet into strips).
  3. Wrap each hot dog with dough, slightly overlapping as you roll, leaving the ends peeking out.
  4. Whisk egg with water. Brush over the tops for a glossy finish. Add optional toppings if desired.
  5. Bake 12–15 minutes, or until dough is puffed and deep golden brown.
  6. Cool 2–3 minutes, then serve warm with ketchup, mustard, or cheese dip.

Notes

  • Use cocktail sausages for bite-sized appetizers.
  • Egg wash gives a golden finish but is optional.
  • Serve immediately for best texture.
