Marry Me Shrimp Pasta

A delicious and romantic pasta dish featuring garlic shrimp and sun-dried tomatoes in a creamy parmesan sauce.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 12 oz pasta (linguine or spaghetti)
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • ½ tsp red pepper flakes
  • ½ cup sun-dried tomatoes, chopped
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • ½ cup chicken broth
  • ¾ cup freshly grated parmesan cheese
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Cook pasta in salted water according to package directions until al dente. Reserve ½ cup pasta water, then drain.
  2. Season shrimp with salt and pepper. Heat olive oil and butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  3. Add shrimp and cook 2–3 minutes per side until pink and opaque. Remove shrimp and set aside.
  4. In the same skillet, add garlic and red pepper flakes. Sauté for 30 seconds until fragrant.
  5. Stir in sun-dried tomatoes, heavy cream, chicken broth, Italian seasoning, and parmesan cheese. Simmer for 3–5 minutes until slightly thickened.
  6. Add cooked pasta to the sauce, tossing to coat. Use reserved pasta water if needed to loosen the sauce.
  7. Return shrimp to the skillet and toss gently until heated through.
  8. Garnish with fresh parsley and serve immediately.

Notes

  • Use fresh shrimp for best results.
  • Adjust red pepper flakes to taste.
  • Substitute half-and-half for heavy cream if needed.
