Death by Chocolate Poke Cake

This rich, gooey death by chocolate poke cake is the ultimate crowd-pleasing dessert—moist, melty, and insanely decadent with every bite!

Ingredients

  • 1 box chocolate cake mix (plus ingredients on the box)
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 cup sweetened condensed milk
  • 1/2 cup hot fudge sauce (or chocolate syrup)
  • 1 1/2 cups heavy whipping cream
  • 2 tbsp powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • Shaved chocolate or chocolate chips
  • Extra hot fudge sauce for drizzle

Instructions

  1. Prepare and bake the chocolate cake as directed on the box in a 9×13 inch pan.
  2. While still warm, use the handle of a wooden spoon to poke holes all over the cake. Pour sweetened condensed milk into the holes. Then drizzle hot fudge sauce over the top.
  3. Let the cake cool to room temp, then refrigerate for at least 1 hour to allow the flavors to soak in.
  4. Beat heavy cream with powdered sugar and vanilla until stiff peaks form. Spread over the chilled cake.
  5. Drizzle with extra hot fudge and sprinkle with shaved chocolate or chips. Slice and serve.
