Ingredients

  • 1 lb whole button or cremini mushrooms
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs or panko
  • ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • ½ tsp paprika
  • Salt & black pepper, to taste
  • Oil for frying (vegetable or canola)
  • ½ cup sour cream
  • ¼ cup mayonnaise
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp fresh parsley, finely chopped
  • Salt & pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. Clean and dry mushrooms well.
  2. Place flour in one bowl, beaten eggs in another, and breadcrumbs mixed with Parmesan and spices in a third.
  3. Dip mushrooms in flour, then eggs, then breadcrumb mixture, pressing gently for extra crunch.
  4. Fry in hot oil (350°F / 175°C) for 2–3 minutes until deep golden brown.
  5. Mix all sauce ingredients until smooth and serve alongside hot mushrooms.

Notes

  • Use fresh mushrooms for best results.
  • Ensure oil is hot enough to prevent soggy mushrooms.
  • Serve immediately for maximum crispiness.
