Black Pepper Steak Stir-Fry

A quick and flavorful Black Pepper Steak Stir-Fry with tender beef, crisp bell peppers, and a spicy kick.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb sirloin or flank steak, thinly sliced
  • 1 green bell pepper, sliced
  • 1 red bell pepper, sliced
  • 1 yellow bell pepper, sliced
  • 1 small onion, sliced
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp oyster sauce
  • 1 tbsp hoisin sauce (optional for sweetness)
  • 1 tbsp cracked black pepper
  • 1 tsp garlic powder or 2 minced garlic cloves
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch
  • 2 tbsp oil (vegetable or sesame oil)
  • Optional: red pepper flakes or chili oil for heat

Instructions

  1. Marinate the steak with soy sauce, cornstarch, and black pepper for 10–15 minutes.
  2. Heat 1 tbsp oil in a skillet over high heat. Sear steak for 2–3 minutes per side.
  3. Remove steak and sauté peppers and onions in remaining oil for 4–5 minutes.
  4. Return steak to the skillet. Add oyster sauce, hoisin, garlic, and more black pepper. Stir-fry for 2–3 minutes.
  5. For extra heat, add red pepper flakes or chili oil. Serve over rice or noodles.

Notes

  • Slice steak thinly against the grain for tenderness.
  • Adjust black pepper and heat level to your preference.
  • Use high heat for a quick sear and crisp veggies.
