Baked Churro Bites

  • ½ cup unsalted butter
  • 1 tbsp granulated sugar
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 3 large eggs
  • ½ cup granulated sugar (for coating)
  • 1½ tsp cinnamon (for coating)
  • Nonstick cooking spray or melted butter (optional for extra golden finish)

Instructions

  1. Make the Dough: In a saucepan, bring water, butter, sugar, and salt to a boil. Once boiling, stir in the flour until it forms a dough ball.
  2. Add the Eggs: Remove from heat and let the dough cool a bit. Beat in the eggs one at a time until the mixture becomes smooth and glossy.
  3. Pipe the Churro Bites: Spoon the dough into a piping bag fitted with a large star tip. Pipe 2-inch strips onto a lined baking sheet.
  4. Bake to Perfection: Bake at 375°F (190°C) for 20–25 minutes or until golden brown.
  5. Coat in Cinnamon Sugar: Toss warm churro bites in a mix of cinnamon and sugar. For extra indulgence, lightly brush with melted butter before coating.

Notes

  • For extra crunch, bake a few minutes longer.
  • Store in an airtight container for up to 2 days.
